  • City of Burlington - Environment - What's new, reports, committees, including information on and reports of the Burlington Sustainable Development Committee.
  • Bronte Creek Provincial Park - Stream, forests, and an operating 1900 farm await you, along with hiking, biking, cross-country trails, and events. Located between Burlington and Oakville.
  • Bruce Trail Conservancy - The Bruce Trail, Canada's oldest and longest footpath, provides the only public access to the magnificent Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.

  • Sierra Club - The Sierra Club is a nonprofit, member-supported public interest organization that promotes conservation of the natural environment by influencing public policy decisions: legislative, administrative, legal, and electoral. A solid resource.
  • Volunteer for Nature - Ontario Nature and the Nature Conservancy of Canada’s Volunteer for Nature program is an out-of-doors volunteer experience designed for people with an interest in biodiversity protection. Join us and volunteer alongside professional conservationists on hands-on projects.

  • Canadian Botanical Conservation Network - The CBCN exists to preserve the biological diversity of Canada's rare and endangered native plant species, wild habitats and ecosystems through the education and conservation programs of our members, including botanical gardens and arboreta.
  • Canadian Centre for Biodiversity of the Canadian Museum of Nature - Its purpose is to bring together Nature's expertise and experience in systematics research and education to help resolve issues related to biodiversity and conservation, and, in national and international contexts, to act as a central focus for biodiversity information and collaboration efforts.
  • Economics and Sustainability - Environment Canada is working with others to find sustainable solutions for development activities.
  • IISD - International Institute for Sustainable Development - This worldwide organization deals with issues and concepts of sustainable development. It offers policy recommendations on international trade and investment, economic policy, climate change, measurement and indicators, and natural resource management to make development sustainable.
  • National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE) - An independent advisory body that provides decision makers, opinion leaders and the Canadian public with advice and recommendations for promoting sustainable development.

  • National Wildlife Federation - The searchable site of the largest American member-supported conservation group, comprised of individuals, organizations, businesses and government uniting to protect wildlife, wild places, and the environment.   • Nature Conservancy of Canada

    NCC is Canada's only national charity who for over 40 years, has been working to protect Canada’s most threatened natural habitats and the endangered species that call them home through purchase, donations and conservation easements.

  • Ontario Nature (Federation of Ontario Naturalists) - Ontario Nature protects and restores natural habitats through research, education and conservation, connecting thousands of individuals and communities.
  • Species at Risk Public Registry - Conservation, recovery efforts, news, and biology of the species listed by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife In Canada (Environment Canada). Search by common or Latin name.
  • Species at Risk in Ontario - More than 500 wild animal and plant species are considered “at risk” according to the Committee on the Status of Endangered Species in Canada - nearly 40% of these in Ontario.
